If you are looking for a versatile dog, consider a Deutsch Kurzhaar (DK). Not only will you be choosing a wonderful companion, but a dog that is enthusiastically capable of handling a variety of feather and furred game. The DK breed is indeed intelligent and possesses the ability to efficiently track and retrieve birds in and out of the water, or track big game.
Should you choose to have a DK, you are strongly encouraged to test it! Testing is what has helped the breed maintain itself. It is a fun learning experience for both you and your dog, and you will also be improving on your dog's training.
Adlerberg Kennel's DKs are German registered dogs tested through strict regulations and thus are certified to breed through German standards. The German system helps regulate the Deutsch Kurzhaar breed from dogs that have genetic disorders or malformities. Dogs that are observed to be displaying these negative qualities are disqualified from breeding in the German System. Our dogs have FCI pedigrees and are not AKC registered.
If you are searching for true DKs, make sure it's a DKV (Deutsch Kurzhaar Verband) registered kennel.
